On 4 December, at 2.30pm, the workshop ‘Rapid Prototyping of
Physical Interfaces’ by Ivo Fonseca will take place at the Institute of Design.
The workshop, dedicated to Interaction Design, is open to
students from all EAAD areas and aims to provide a more analogue and manual
experience, exploring simple and accessible materials.
The programme will explore how physical products can
integrate elements of interaction design. To this end, a prototyping exercise
will be proposed using simple materials (cardboard, paper, post-its, etc.),
where each group will have to create the interface of a product, considering
the user's interaction flow. These can be simple objects such as a smart light
bulb, a thermostat or a coffee machine, among others.
Students can use sketching or simple prototyping software,
if available.
